Frost delays, thunderstorms and in-the-dark finishes — and the largest field yet at fifty-six.
Day One · Scramble & Alt Shot · We‑Ko‑Pa · Cholla
The frost melted and play began under exceptional conditions. The scramble/alt-shot format put team strategy on show. Nine of fourteen matches came down to the final hole — three ties, six won on eighteen. A three-point edge to The OG's.
Day Two · Best Ball · We‑Ko‑Pa · Saguaro
The Pirates came storming back, winning eight of the first twelve matches. One tie all day, in the dark, in the final match. The Pirates took it 8½–5½ to level the Cup at 14–14 — one of the only times the GRC has been all square going to Sunday.
Day Three · Singles · TPC Scottsdale
The Pirates won five of the first six to lead 19–15. Then the OG's swept the next six, including a critical 1-up win on eighteen from Clayton Smith. Max Ugarte and Captain Dan Messina closed it out in matches 23 and 27.
The Folds of Honor raffle raised over $3,000 in a single evening.
