GRC ‘23 was ELECTRIC!! We returned to the traditional 2v2 Ryder Cup team format … with the Putt Pirates taking on The OG’s in an epic duel of Titans. We had awesome memories, phenomenal course conditions, great content captured and GRC 23 came down to the wire on Sunday. As always, special thanks to everyone who has helped grow the GRC year over year, and to all the now lifetime GRC members.

Day 1: 2-Man Scramble

Day1 of GRC 23 was played at Desert Willow - Firecliff Course, with the format being 2-Man Scramble. The Pirates in their traditional Pastel Blue, and the OG’s in their Black/Gray. We all met, passed out GRC SWAG, and exchanged pleasantries before the battle ensued. We had first tee announcements, exceptional range experience and more as Desert Willow never disappoints. We had three matches decided on the last 2 holes. The returning Champions, The OG’s, captured all 3 of those matches and stepped out to a commanding 6-2 lead after Day 1.

Day 2: Best Ball

Day2 of the GRC 22 was back at our favorite place in Palm Desert... Desert Willow. This time on the Mountain View course. We had professional photo content this year and it was a TREAT! Once again, Three matches came down to the last two-three holes! The Pirates won all 3 of these matches to claw to narrow the OG’s lead heading into Singles Sunday at PGA West! AJ & Will Holland took the first match of Day 2 for the Pirates, followed by Miles and Wildon capturing a full point victory in Match 2. This was a theme as the Pirates played exceptional all day in Best Ball. Going into Sunday with 16 points available per team - it was anyone’s game!

Day 3: Sunday Singles

Day 3 of the GRC was filled with some incredible memories - at PGA West, Stadium Course! The San Andreas bunker ˆ loomed large on hole 16, and the island green 17 “Alcatraz” was a TEST not for the faint of heart, as many matches came down to hole 17! The GRC was at 9-7 in favor of The OG's to begin Singles Sunday. The OG’s got out to a hot start taking 4 full points in the first three matches, with the Pirates netting only 2 .. leaving the scores at the following through the first 3 matches of the Final Day ...

The race to 16 & 1/2 and the GRC 23 crown intensified as Matches 4 - 6 saw both the Putt Pirates & OG's secure 3 full points! Lucas and Hassan barely pulled out full points on the final 2 holes to give the OG's a commanding lead at 15 points. The Putt Pirates then came in hot in Match 5 with a 2-0 sweep ... Although the previous 3 matches came down to Hole 17, at Alcatraz … Match 7 was an earlier decision as Ben and Maxx came out guns a blazing in match 7 to capture a full 2 points (both 7&6) and seal the GRC crown for the OG's! Navi defeated Thomas Cox in the final match for the Pirates, while Spencer Shore closed his match out on Alcatraz
